I do not photograph to show. I photograph to
let understand.
I am a documentary photographer, community psychologist, researcher and trainer. Since 2007 I have worked across all three, where the image meets the people inside it.
My work as photographer is published in the world's leading titles, from New York Times, to Guardian, El Pais, Time, Repubblica, Internazionale, National Geographic and many many others. In February 2024 my images of the glass masters of Murano earned the cover of National Geographic Italia. I have portrayed Nobel laureates and leading voices of our time.
But I do not only photograph the world. I help change it. I work with Photovoice, a participatory method I pioneer in Italy and Europe and decline for research, training and citizen engagement, with universities, institutions and companies across Europe. From it came Photo Story, adopted by the European Commission, and my project SHAME became part of the campaign behind a Council of Europe resolution that calls on its 46 member states to recognise and repair child abuse in institutions.

PHOTOVOICE
Photovoice hands the camera to the community itself. People learn to see, photograph the reality they live, and read the images together. What emerges is a collective map of a place or a problem: what fails, what works, and the community's own proposals for change. Ethical photography as a tool for engagement, and for positive social change. A pioneer of the method in Italy, I have built projects adopted by the European Climate Pact Commission.
